World Youth Day 2011
Following the celebration of Holy Mass at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney on 20 July 2008, the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI proudly blessed the people of Spain by announcing that the next International World Youth Day 2011 will be held in Madrid, Spain. This will be held from August 15 until the 21st 2011.

What is World Youth Day?World Youth Day is an event for young people, for young Catholics. It is intended to be a global week-long expression of faith in companionship with the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, the Pope.
The young people should be happy and excited but remembering that the focus is on prayer and helping young people to grow in faith. Each day of the week includes Mass, prayers and teaching (catechesis) on the essential aspects of the Catholic faith are held as well as music and cultural events.
