VIRGIN OF THE ROSE FESTIVITY 2008 EL POBLE NOU DE BENITATXELL From 2nd to 10th May PROGRAMMING Friday, 2nd May 09.30 – Mass. 20.30 – Theatre by the new Benitatxell´s theatre group “Riu- Rau”. Saturday, 3rd May 13.00 - The bells will announce the begining of this festivity. 19.00 - Mass. Pasacaglia and withdrawal of festeros, accompained by the Benitatxell´s Municipal Music Band. 20.00 - Offering flower in honour to the Virgin of the Rose. 24.00 - Dance entertained by the orchestra “Trio Latino”. Sunday, 4th May - Virgin of the Rose Festivitiy 09.00 - General roll over of bells. Great woken up by festeros. 10.00 - Pasacaglia and withdrawal of festeros, accompained by the Benitatxell´s Municipal Music Band 11.00 - The breads will leave from Oratorio Jaume Llobell towards the Church. 12.00 - Solemn mass in honour to the Virgin of the Rose sung by the Parochial Choir of Benitatxell. 13.00 - The blessed bread will be distributed to all the houses in the village. 20.30 - Proccession in honour to the Virgin of the Rose, San Pancracio and San Luís Gonzaga. On having ended, there will be fireworks. 24.00 - Dance entertained by the orchestra “Caroche”. Monday, 5th May - San Pancracio Day 08.00 - Woken up by festeros. 10.30 - Pasacaglia and withdrawal of festeros, accompained by the charanga. 12.00 - Mass in honour to San Pancracio sung by the Parochial Choir. 13.00 - Speech by the Mayor of San Pancracio, in the Town Hall balcony, dictating the procedure that have to be respected in the cavalcade. 13.30 - Cock´s races in José Antonio street. On having finished, there will be a small appetizer. 17.30 - Great cavalcade on fancy dresses encouraged by the charanga. The concentration will be on the Casal Fester. Later, sandwiches and bier will be distributed for all those who wear fancy dresses. 24.00 - Discomobil. Tuesday, 6th May - San Luís Gonzaga Day 08.00 - Woken up by festeros. 10.30 - Pasacaglia and withdrawal of festeros, accompained by the charanga. 12.00 - Mass in honour to San Luís Gonzaga. 13.00 - "Cucañas" for children. Later, appetizer in Casal Fester. 14.00 - Contest of paellas in José Antonio and Mayor streets with prizes to the best three. 16.00 - Championship of CAU (card game) in the Social Centre, organized by the Retired People Association. 17.00 - Theatre for children by “Papallona Teatre” group. After that, popular games. Wednesday, 7th May 19.00 - Bulls in the street. Thursday, 8th May 15.00 – II Race for Coexistence, organized by Beitatxell´s Town Council, Public Schooll Sta. Mª Magdalena and AMPA. 19.00 - Bulls in the street. Friday, 9th May 19.00 - Bulls in the street. 24.00 - Bulls in the street and bull with fire. Saturday, 10th May 19.00 - Entry of bulls. 19.30 - Bulls in the street.
