3 February 2009The fiesta San Blas in Potríes is a religious festival that originated in the seventeenth century, coinciding with the saving of the town after the expulsion of the Moors in 1609, when the Borja family ruled.
The custom is to go to the Church of St. John to move the relic of the saint which is preserved in it, eat the bread blessed, sing the joys and light a candle at the altar of the saint. This would comply with the ritual of protection to the saint who it is said can cure the ills of the throat. PROGRAMMING
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3
At 11:00 am: Traditional Mass in the church, singing with the joys of the blessed bread and the relic of the saint.
. From this day the church will be open to visit the relic of the saint.
At 14:00 hours: Lunch from San Blas for retirees and pensioners Potries.
At 16:00 am: Pasacalle of Tabal dolçaina i "in the streets of the village.
At 17:00 am: "Buñola popular with chocolate.
A cup of hot chocolate with fritters to celebrate the Day of San Blas, in the plaza of the Church.
At 17:30 am: Cucañas

Cucañas tests, among which we highlight the career sacks and feet tied, eating apples with their hands tied, race horses and knights After each test we interspersed with the breaking of a basin, where everyone can collect candy and toys.For the little ones are replaced by piñatas Perolas board with the same content in the church square.
