Murcia La gran fiesta de la tolerancia VIII Festival Murcia Tres Culturas. Del 14 al 30 de mayo 2008.. Giving good sample of this projection outside our borders and the spirit of mestization that registers the festival, the inaugural act of this year will welcome the world-wide opening of Upside-down violin, a concert in which the pianista and English musicólogo Michael Nyman - considered one of the best composers of the world of `new music' - will fuse his musical talent with the ancestral and millenarian sounds of the Orchestra Chekara de Tetuán. A magnificent crossing of cultures to open a programming with which the City council of Murcia wants to summon to the greater number of spectators, combining for it the quality with the capacity of attraction of an ample public. Also it is possible to honor musical FAMA, that it will narrate on the scene of the Romea Theater a history of cultural and artistic mestization, tolerance, personal challenge and coexistence between young people of different races. Other appointment essential will be `Celebration of Three Cultures', in that an ample number of musicians coming from very diverse countries and cultures will occupy the seats and streets of the city in an uninterrupted celebration of twelve hours of music that will finish with the spectacle How the Andalusian horses dance, in charge of the Real School Andalusian of Ecuestre Art. Also, for the first time in the history of the contest, the Cathedral of Murcia will open its doors to welcome in its greater altar the passion according to San Marcos, that will be interpreted by Discantus, the Choir of Lublin and the Symphony orchestra of the Region of Murcia in the great concert of closing.
