One of the great
traditional Spanish events. The Sherry Fair and Horse Fair dates back to the reign of Alfonso X the
Wise person and is now a week long event that no visitor would be
disappointed with.
The city is famous
for it's sherry and it's horse's.
Add this to bull
fighting and flamenco and it's a chance to see exactly what makes entertainment
in Spain. Jerez de la Frontera Horse and Sherry Fair started life as a cattle market now is a full blown Spanish Fiesta with several different and important themes to the region. A Livestock and Agricultural Machinery Exhibition Bullfighting Flamenco Horse Fair. This is a chance to see the pure bred Andalucian horses and the breath taking acts of horsemanship. They are always coming up with new ideas but the crowd favourites are always the same dressage, show jumping The Andalucian Show from the Jerez Riding School- The Royal School of Equestrian Art who create an equestrian ballet. Each day, horses, riders and carriages in traditional dress ride along the streets of Jerez in a beautiful spectacle. The Gonzalez Hontoria fair park, the main site of the fair becomes a town within another town and it is lit as if a brilliant sun with more than 1,200,000 light bulbs with different colours. There is a huge fair ground, there firework displaysa nd many more events and sights to enthrall the visitor. |
