Xirivella International Clown Festival
6 to 25 November 2007 The Festival's goal is both to entertain while contributing with its proceedings to different NGOs such as Doctors Without Borders, Clowns Without Borders, or Payasospital. Clowns remain an endearing presence in our culture. They are the main protagonists at this annual event, which keeps growing in importance year after year. International clown shows also have their place at the festival, which this year broadens its horizons to include shows from all over the world. Worldwide clown companies are present this year at this fascinating meeting point of circus acting, laughter and showmanship. National companies (Yllana and Cortocirquito Produccions) participate in the festival next to Italian companies such as Teatro Necessario o Teatrito dei Peidi, and the troupes of Belgian artist Bernard Massuir or Argenitinian Nancy Cogorno. Vol-Ras, a Catalan troupe that has spent the past 20 years combining their performances with their education activities and performances in different TV shows will present their new show, Canguelis. Mirko Mágic, the brilliant Argentinian magician with the greatest number of awards in the world of magic, will also be performing at the festival.
