WOMADGran Canaria12th to 15th November WOMAD (World of Music, Arts & Dance) returns to the Canary Islands this November for another weekend of wonderful music, arts and dance in the exhilarating beachside city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Las Palmas is the main city on the island of Gran Canaria, located at the north of the island, around 20 minutes drive from the airport. The venue, as for the past seven years, will be the Parque de Santa Catalina - a city square close to the centre of Las Palmas, and just 200 metres from the Playa de las Canteras, one of the island's longest and most spectacular beaches. There are many hotels, shops and restaurants in the vicinity. This year, WOMAD Canarias will feature an outside main stage with musical performances, an inside stage featuring adult workshops and musical performances, plus a children's workshop area, 'Taste The World' sessions, a Global Market, and walkabout artists.This year sees a new edition, to be held in Santa Catalina Park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with performances by more than twenty international artists. Besides the concerts, there will also be a wide variety of parallel activities, such as vocal and instrumental workshops for adults, gastronomic tasting sessions, and courses for children, along with cabaret shows, conferences and audiovisual presentations.
