An exhibition of the work of Joan Ripollés around the streets of Alicante

Alicante is still one of the leading cultural references in the Region of Valencia. In fact, until 9th December, around twenty sculptures by Joan Ripollés made from bronze and fibre covered in murano glass will be exhibited around the streets of Alicante, specifically along the marina promenade and the Avenida Oscar Esplá boulevard.
"These sculptures distil ingenuity and humour and are influenced by manifestations of bullfighting and nature. Urban Universe is an intervention in city life, a provocation without victims but with consequences. Ripollés' sculptures, exhibited in the open setting of Alicante, will act as a catalyst for the city's public life, precisely because they are installed in areas of transit. They are a way of sparking debate about the changing meaning of the city and the fragmentation and dislocation of the urban setting."
