This romeria type pilgrimage festival takes place in the Hermitage of Tower Garci'a.
The pilgrimage commemorates the appearance of the Virgin of the Sea, Patron of the City, in 1502. The image is transported from the Church of Santo Domingo to the Hermitage of Tower Garci'a, where it appeared all those years ago. In the evening they return it to its original location

23rd January to 16th February 2010Don't miss the February carnival in Torrevieja! There are two parades in this 'carnaval' that should be noted, the first one is on Sunday the 15 of February and starts at 16:00 from the Plaza Maria Asuncion, proceeding south down Calle Ramon Gallud (this is the main shopping street in Torrevieja town center) and ending at Calle Patricio Perez.
