 Gijón International Film Festival
23 November to 1st December

Gijón International Film Festival, which will take place from 23rd November to 1st December, will include in its line-up the competitive section Enfants Terribles, which has become a reference point for the best international cinema for young people. In this edition, Enfants Terribles will premiere 13 features, including fiction, animation and documentary films, which offer new looks on the world of children and teenagers.

Worth mentioning among the films to be screened are the Dutch box office success "Schnitzel Paradise"; "We Shall Overcome", the biggest box office draw of the year in Denmark and Glass Bear at Berlin; "Driving Lessons", with Rupert Grint in the lead role (a household name after his part in "Harry Potter"), Julie Walters (the teacher in "Billy Elliot") and Laura Linney ( "Mystic River"); "The Hip Hop Project", produced by Bruce Willis; and "Winky's Horse", which won the Best Script prize and Best Film for Young People at the Dutch Film Awards. The Spanish contribution is "Cristóbal Molón" by Irusoin and Dibulitoon studios, the winners of the last edition of Enfants Terribles with "Supertramps".

The features deal with multicultural relationships, respect for others, artistic creativity and of course, the powerful culture born and raised in the streets, which has spawned such non-conformist expressions as graffiti, rap music and hip - hop.

The children and youngsters who attend the screenings will choose the winning film with their votes, which will receive a 10,000 euros cash prize. Enfants Terribles comprises also a series of parallel activities, such as Q&A's with the directors and didactic workshops. Besides, teachers will be given a booklet containing the paedagogical key points of each of the films. Schools willing to take part can do so until 13th November at the phone numbers 985 18 29 46 and 985 18 29 40, from 10 to 14, Monday to Thursday, and Fridays from 10 to 14.
