WALKING.
There are just so many interesting walks. From your hotel, villa or apartment in Andalucia  walk through the  best almond groves, the hills, mountains, wetlands of Europe. There is also a selection of pre-organised Guided Walks available for you, organised from every local village and town nearby. These walks range from easy to challenging, and are all extremely enjoyable

SKIING.
For the best skiing in Spain´s top location for winter sports there really is no choice - go to The Sierra Nevada skiing resort . For most of the winter the skiing is made just perfect by the brilliant sunshine. And from the top of the Veleta peak, when the days are clear, skiers can see across to Morocco.
You can hire equipment and even hire the use of a trainer to improve your skiing technique. For many people skiing is one of the "must" things to do in winter. It really is an exhilarating experience for all levels of ability.
Go there in summer, too, for a different view of life in the mountains.

Things you must not miss in Andalucia

Look down el Tajo in Ronda (Andalucia)
Ronda teeters on the edge of a cliff, but is also bisected by 300-foot-deep el Tajo gorge. Stand at the top of the Puente Nuevo and look down, or climb down the cold, damp staircase in La Mina and look up. The view from either side is unique.

See two millennia in one building in Carmona (Andalucia)
A fortress gate in Roman times, converted to a Moorish fortress a few hundred years later, and made into a Christian fortress only five centuries ago. Few buildings have such extensive pedigree. Roman amphitheatre and necropolis in walking distance.

A Roman Necropolis in Carmona (Andalucia)
Dating back to the time of the Republic, the Roman Necropolis in Carmona was discovered only in the 19th century. Points of interest include a strange elephant statue and a full two-story house of the dead, buried underground.

Otherworldly cathedral in Cordoba (Andalucia)
It's on every casual tourist's list, but don't let that stop you. Step into Mezquita, a mystical forest of serene Moorish arches that suddenly gives way to a Baroque cathedral. The nearby Jewish Quarter has a market that affords truly unique finds.

Gothic architecture in Moorish Spain in Seville (Seville)
Make the effort: climb the Seville cathedral tower. You'll see buttresses fly like never before among the sober orange groves of the courtyard. When you catch your breath, get downstairs and see tomb of Columbus and think about how far you've come.

Cabo de Gato National Park
Things To Do
The Cabo de Gato extends around a point of land and mountains just past Almeria. There is a lighthouse on the very tip at a high altitude.

Gibraltar Museum
Things To Do  Tourist Attractions
The Gibraltar Museum is definitely worth a visit as it explains the whole history of this famous rock.

Plaza de Los Naranjos
Things To Do Tourist Attractions
The Plaza del Los Naranjos stands at the very heart of the old town and it is the most romantic and bustling centre of Marbella. In the morning it's quiet.

Manquita (La)
Things To Do  Tourist Attractions
Centrally located in the older part of the city, La Manquita is the name given to Malaga's main Cathedral though it refers to a one-armed lady.

Granada - Historical
Things To Do  Tourist Attractions
You cannot visit Andalucia without going to Granada. It's easy to get to since it is served by decent main roads and good bus services or reasonable trains.

Andalucia - Bird List
Things To Do Sports
Not a planned birding trip this time and although we spent some of our days looking heavenward and the area gave us plenty to enjoy, we apologise if we have not done the area justice.

Sierra de Aracena
Things To Do Tourist Attractions
Let's start with what it's not like, so that nobody will be disappointed. It does not have the stark grandeur of the Alpujarras, the Sierra de Cazorla,…

Mijas
Things To Do Tourist Attractions
Located just above Fuengirola is the quaint village of Mijas who's done an excellent job on not missing out on the tourist boom while retaining it's
simple charm

THRILL TO FLAMENCO.
Flamenco is is high on the list of things to do for many visitors to Andalucia. Flamenco is believed to have originated in the Sacromonte area of Granada. It is an exciting dance, practised throughout Spain, and especially Andalucia. In the Sacromonte, the cave houses are still inhabited by gypsies and it is here that you can enjoy the high energy and emotion of REAL flamenco. We can recommend a variety of venues in Padul and Granada where tourists can witness and even take part in this special dance. It is a must-see for anyone wanting to see the Real Spain.

 BIRDS, FLOWERS AND WILDLIFE.
There is a wide abundance of wild life in Andalucia. Regular visitors  include the bee eater and hoopo birds, also the Marsh Harrier gliding above. One of the favourite things to do for bird-lovers is to simply sit in the garden of their hotel or villa and watch and enjoy. The province of Granada in Andalucia also boasts a wide range of rare orchids and wild flowers certainly worth looking out for. Why not go for a stroll and just see what you can find here.

SPANISH GUITARS.
In Granada there is a famous "calle" (street) known locally as "Guitar Street". Here you will find many guitar makers who will happily show you how well their guitars are made and will be pleased to serenade and entertain you so that you can hear at first hand how their guitars resound. The rich notes are bound to make you want to dance or to cry, depending upon the song played. Certainly worth a place on anyone's things to do list

HORSE RIDING.
If you enjoy horse riding - no matter what level of skill you have - you will certainly love it here with the dry climate and wonderful views. Andalucia provides th perfect horse riding country for every level.

LAZING AND SUN-BATHING.
Finally, let´s not forget one of the main things to do for many people who come to Andalucia

They simply want to rest and have a delightfully easy holiday to recoup from all the stress they wanted to get away from.

There are many wonderful beaches, no need to explore they will be right on your doorstep in Andalucia

Alhambra Tour
The Alhambra is the most impressive collection of buildings I have seen. It's architecture spans millennia and yet holds together as a collection of castles and palaces overlooking the town.

Ronda
Southern Spain is famous for its little white towns. Each one has its own character and is situated on some mountain side to set-up a picturesque scene.

Rock of Gibraltar
There is a teaming modern British city of about 70,000 inhabitants on this "isthmus" located between southern Spain and northern Africa.

Tourist Attractions
There are so many bars and restaurants that I cannot recall their names. Just ask any of the locals or even sit outside one of the many cafes and watch the world go by.

Doñana National Park
Bird enthusiasts will already know about this, so I have geared it to those moderately interested like myself. You do not have to be a twitcher to enjoy this experience.

Mezquita (La) Things To Do
If you expect to find anything like the Córdoba mosque on a hill/mountain top in the Sierra de Aracena, you deserve the disappointment you will…

Tangiers Things To Do
In all honesty, I remember the song from the 80's but had no idea what a/the Kasbah was! Talk about a crash course, hands-on lesson!!! The Kasbah is simplky amazing.

Gibraltar Things To Do
With all the famous Spanish sites around, I still don't remember why I settled on a group excursion to the Rock of Gibraltor, but I'm glad I did.

Malaga Things To Do
Easily linked by the RENFE line, Malaga was a great chance to freely explore on my own though escorted group excursions are available for those wanting the details.
